Oblivion : the ultimate heist question ? ?

I have a big problem - I entered the elder scrolls library and I was apparently meant to sit in a chair while the blind priests give me the elder scrolls. I didn't , I killed all the monks because I didn't want to sneak . Then I escaped the palace and saved the game . I do have another save but that was when I was about to go down the fireplace to escape . Can I go back to the library and steal the scroll ? I need help !!! :D
