Time For Another Computer?

I want to remain loyal to my beloved old Dell Inspiron B110. It runs slow, balks, freezes after six years, and I'm thinking it's time for the E-cycle. I got a Windows "Low on Virtual Memory" message, and so I eliminated all the programs I don't run on this computer AND did a complete factory restore of Windows to try and help this machine. It worked for a couple of weeks, but again it has slowed down, it runs slow as molasses in January, and I received the low virtual memory message again. I'd like some impartial advice on what to do do now. Full disclosure--I'm fine with junking this computer; no life support for this old girl, I've been looking for an excuse to buy a whole new system.
