Doesn't an unemotional God judge us impartially without interfering in our physical universe?

Although I believe in God, I have never believed that He is personally involved in our lives. Nor have I ever believed, but have tried to believe, that He interferes with our physical reality and the universe. Of course, life progresses and so my thoughts and beliefs in God, are always prone to move and change with it.
